The class meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings from June 7 through July 21, 2004. No class meetings will be held from June 23 through July 7. The exam will be given on Monday, July 26.
Assignments for first week
- Monday, June 7: Read pages 1-35 in the Whaley casebook, and be prepared to discuss the questions and problems in class.
- Wednesday, June 9: Read pages 63-91 in the casebook. You can skip problem 9.
- If you want to read further ahead, the following week's assignments will likely include pages 91-117, 175-200, and 211-256.

An examination of concerns particular to consumer transactions in formation, substance, and remedies. Topics will include advertising; consumer sales practices and contracts; consumer credit practices; fraud; warranties; and product standards and safety. Regulatory, statutory, and common-law obligations and remedies (both state and federal) will be addressed, with an emphasis on federal consumer protection statutes.
